New Cool Radio Blog Thang
I just finished installing radio.blog in my sidebar and oddly enough it appears to work. I figured this would be a nice addition here at the Thang since we are sort of a blog about Mormon theology, Mormon life, and of course, Rock ‘n’ Roll. Not that I anticipate a lot of posts specifically on rock ‘n’ roll but the subject comes up often enough that I figured this might be a good idea for our blog.
The first songs I put up are catching up on some songs I have posted on in the past. I recently had a post on cover tunes, so they are the first four on the list. I wrote a Free Ride post recently too so I included that song. The last five are the original songs I talked about in my post called BYU Rock Star. I recommend you check those posts out if you didn’t see them the first time around.
I’m still learning about the way radio blog works. It appears that when I upload groups of songs at once they appear in reverse alphabetical order in the playlist. There also seem to be an hourly timer that separates different uploads. Anyway, I’ll get this figured out and with any luck we’ll have loads of fun with it.
Don’t worry, despite what you see now, I don’t intend to always have 90% of the songs be from my own bands. We’ll try to mix things up based on our mood and the subjects we are posting on. This ought to be fun.
I just had my Firefox browser freeze up on me listening to the songs. I’m worried that might be a bug of some kind. Please let me know if any of you run into bugs or technical difficulties.

If you convert songs all at the same time, they’ll be listed alphabetically. If you want them to appear in a certain order, you have to convert them separately, in reverse order of how you want them to play.
Radio.blogs are fun.

It’s working fine for me, but I’m not using IE or Firefox.

Neither IE nor Firefox, Ned? What, are you browsing with the raw power of your mind? (Or still using Netscape…)
This is a pretty cool thing, Geoff! Mazel tov.

I thought for sure I was going to have to contact you for help, Susan. So far things have gone pretty smoothly though. Don’t be surprised if I email you for tech support one of these days. You were my inspiration for adding this after all.
(And thanks for the input Ned and RT)
